She is a STOTT Pilates instructor and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University. Taught as a total art form with equal attention on technical proficiency and theatricality, her ballet classes are communal and inclusive, focusing on proper alignment, rhythm and musicality, and ease of movement all within the framework of the Cecchetti technique; while also exploring character development, breath and gesture. Amanda's introduction to modern dance class draws inspiration from her unique experiences as a performer in NYC. Having worked with world renowned coaches in the Merce Cunningham and José Limón techniques while also assisting and dancing for pioneers David Gordon and Ruth Maleczech, her classes blend ideas from these experiences, focusing on dropping weight, going in and out of the floor and dynamic movement. |
